Be sure that it is Little League approved!

New information for 2018:

Starting January 1, 2018, the new USA Baseball Standard will be implemented across all Little League baseball divisions and Little League approved bats will no longer be acceptable for use in any Little League Game or Activity.

If you are considering buying a baseball bat, please be aware of the following changes for approved bats for the 2018 baseball season.  Current standards use the BPF (1.15) mark on the bat.  Beginning in 2018 season, bats need to be marked with the "USA Baseball"  stamp.  Bats marked with a BPF rating will no longer be approved for play in Little League beginning in 2018.  Here are the specific changes for each of the baseball divisions affected by this change beginning in 2018:

  *   Majors/Minors          Needs to have USA Baseball mark; maximum barrel size 2 5/8"
  *   Juniors                       Needs to have USA Baseball mark; maximum barrel size 2 5/8"; no BBCOR
  *   Seniors                       Must have BBCOR stamp

Softball bat standards will not change--2 1/4" barrel with a BPF of 1.20.

Please check the comparison chart at www.littleleague.org/learn/equipment/baseballbatinfo.htm to view the details.
